"Modern Fairytale" creation chronology

This is how it all started. Marina & Nick writing songs. And Marina picking her teeth.

Marina's friend/producer/composer extraordinaire Alex Kharlamov produces "The Strength I Need".


In Alex's studio Marina & Nick notice the drawing entitled "Rain On The Butterfly". They're intrigued and they decide to write a song called...
you got it.
 

Marina's friend/producer Steve Leavitt produces "Fool". Look at them smile!


Nick thinks Marina's jokes are extra funny

Marina is reverting back to childhood while Nick & Steve mix "Fool"

Marina thinks she's bad ass like the Terminator. Please don't burst her bubble.


Steve Leavitt is very serious about the mixing process. Very serious.


Steve is done mixing and can finally relax. Thank you, Steve!


Marina's friend/super awesome engineer Jared Brown thinks Marina V is cool and wants to record the rest of the songs on "Modern Fairytale".


Super cool keyboardist Shannon Hurley is lending her talents on a few of Marina's songs with beautiful string arrangements. Nick, the Russian stacking dolls & Louie Armstrong are overseeing the progress.

Nick & Cole are smiling after recording guitars for "Fate".


Marina is feeling the vibes while recording vocals.


Marina's bass player, Andy Catt, is found passed out (or napping?) on the studio floor. We'll go with passed out. Or napping.
