Моей дочке уже 7 лет, и я говорю с ней исключительно по-русски с самого её рождения.
Но в повседневной жизни я у неё единственный русскоязычный человек, и язык даётся нам не без борьбы. Но я ооооочень стараюсь :)

Ever since my little daughter Violetta was born 7 years ago I've been speaking Russian to her.
I want her to grow up bilingual, as it has so many advantages!
And I want her to be able to understand the language of the country where I grew up, and where her ancestors come from.
Teaching her Russian while living in America is often an uphill battle, because I am the only one in her daily life that speaks it. Everything else around her is in English :)
She understands everything, but replies mostly in English.
A few months ago I found a program for kids to learn Russian online.
She is learning to read and write, which is amazing! (and it is definitely beyond my capabilities as I am not a teacher, haha).
I posted about her lessons a few times on Instagram, and the program reached out asking if we'd like to make a video in exchange for a few free lessons. Of course, I said yes, as we love the program.
